Location typology

This is my location typology done at St Mary’s in Beverley. I like these because they tell a story from a particular period of the churches history seven hundred years ago. True to the typology genre they are all different but also in many cases the same.
Because these pieces of sculpture are high up I had to use my 70-300mm lens as 228mm to gain a close image. I used shutter priority of 1 sec and also a tripod to get the sharpest possible images. ISO was kept at 100 and I used a cable release to ensure least movement of the camera.
The above location shots are now on an A2 Background and equally spaced as seen below.

The studio typology set is a series of colour images of commercial USB drives. Again they are the same thing ie. flash drives, but everyone is different.

Having completed the two typologies I then looked at layering and merging some of the images together. The first one attempted was the usb drives.

The above image is an amalgamation of six of the usb images. I like the result but to achieve it I not only had to layer each individual layer, I also had to used some layers more than once so as to be able to mask out sections to bring just parts of it to the top.
This next amalgamation is from six of the gargoyle monochrome images.

I wasn’t as pleased with this result because I didn’t think the mono images made such a striking image as the coloured one. I think each image needed to have more contrast to achieve a similar result.
